• The change in public account dimension cannot be reflected into model where the default data and settings of the public account dimension have been overwritten in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.14.7

1. Log on to SAC and create one Public Account Dimension.
2. Add 3 members into this public dimension: A, B, C=A+B.
3. Create a new model and then reuse this public account dimension.
       => Confirm that the formula of C account (A+B) is displayed in italics to indicate the default formula from public account dimension itself.
4. Leave the model and then open the public account dimension created in step 1.
5. Change formula of member C from A+B to A-B.
6. Leave the public dimension and then open the model created in step 3.
       => Confirm that the formula of C account is also changed to A-B, which is still displayed in italics to indicate the default formula from public account dimension itself.
7. Overwrite the formula inside this model to A*B, which is not displayed in italics any more.
8. Leave the model and then open the public account dimension created in step 1.
       => The formula in the public account dimension itself is still kept as A-B, which is expected.
       => Accord to help guide, "editing the public account dimension within model B has no impact, be it on models A and C, or on the public account dimension itself outside of model B."
9. In the public account dimension, change formula of member C to A/B.
10. Leave the public dimension and then open the model created in step 3.
        => The formula in the public account dimension itself is still kept as A*B.

• This is by-design.
• Accord to help guide, "The default data and settings of the public account dimension are displayed in italics. In the Modeler view, you overwrite them without affecting other models based on that public account dimension, or the original public account dimension. "

If you want to ensure that that the common accounts (both base accounts without formulas or exception aggregation, and calculated accounts) behave the same across all models, please remove the overwritten setting from the individual model to ensure that it is displayed in italics.   After that, editing the public account dimension on its own will affect all models.
