3091278 - Error "The alias email or alias name is not unique" when performing SAML SSO for e-mail imported from a third party

Symptom

  • Following error can be seeing in CMS logs when attempting to login with SAML via email address:
    • Either the alias email is not unique or no alias name found with the matching email

  • One of the following errors may occur during the login:
    Http Status 500-Internal Server Error on FioriBI/logon.jsp
    Account information not recognized: Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is correct. (FWB 00008) 
  • SAML Workflow is properly configured as in KBA 2791348 - How To: Configure Front-End SAML Authentication on BI 4.3
