3094173 - Error 14120 is reported on objid 8 of a user database - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A 14120 error with state 5 may be raised from ptn__pdes_unset() during dump tran with truncate_only, load database, online database or drop database.

    Error: 14120, Severity: 26, State: 5
    Expected to find the partition descriptor for objid '8' indid '0' ptnid '8' in dbid '<dbid>', in a 'REFERENCE COUNT' state (found state '<negative value>' instead).
  • The error is accompanied by a stack trace referencing the functions:

            exc_raise
            ptn__pdes_unset
            ptn_pdes_set
            closetable
            xls_close
