3095259 - Unable to mask dateOfBirth field in Employee Profile

Despite masking the standard element dateOfBirth in Manage Business Configuration, it is still visible in the Employee Profile.

1. Navigate to Manage Business Configuration.
2. Select Employee Profile > Standard element > DateOfBirth.
3. Then set mask option Yes for DateOfBirth field.
4. Navigate to the Employee Profile and notice that the DateOfBirth field is not masked.
   

Only text fields can be masked. Since dateOfBirth is a date field, setting it as "Masked: Yes" in Manage Business Configuration will not have any effect in the backend, and it will not be masked. Other text fields, such as empId or ssn, can be masked in the Employee Profile.

To have this behavior change considered within future development cycles, you can submit an enhancement request on Customer Influence Portal at Customer Influence and Adoption | SAP Community. All enhancement requests are reviewed by the Product Management Team and, if successful, are developed and implemented in a future product release.
