3097292 - Connectivity issues between SuccessFactors and external/third-party sites - SuccessFactors

You are facing outbound connectivity issues between your SuccessFactors (SF) Integration Center or your SF Boomi Cloud Atom and some external/third-party site (SFTP/REST/SOAP).

Checking the logs, you can see that:

• failure occurs very fast in Boomi with SSL error or java.net.SocketException: Connection reset;
• failure occurs after standard timeout time in Integration center;

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
• Boomi

As per our security policy, outbound connections to external/third-party sites are blocked on SF Data Centers by default.

Therefore, when setting up an outbound connection to a new external site, you need to request that the destination’s IPs/URLs be allowlisted on the corresponding SF Data Center.
When raising a ticket, please ensure to include the following:

For external FTP/SFTP endpoint:

• SFTP IP address.
• SFTP Hostname.
• Business justification for the allowlisting.
• Notes:
  • The standard Destination Port is 22; no other custom ports will be allowed. This is valid for all SAP systems (Integration Center, Provisioning jobs, Boomi SF atoms, etc.). 
  • All SFTP integrations require firewall allowlist adjustments for port 22.

For external REST/SOAP endpoint:

• Domain URL.
• Destination Port.
• Source IP address (for SOAP endpoints only).
• Business justification for the allowlisting.
• Note: If using port 443, allowlisting is not required. For port 22, only customer specific IP addresses are needed.

Note that the respective team will not proceed without the listed information.
