3097620 - C4C Inbound Service Interface Failing With “Operation Not Possible; Business Document Locked” or “Solve Configuration Issue in ID Mapping” Errors

Symptom

You are replicating data from External System to Cloud for Customer, however the inbound message is failing with the following error: "Operation not possible; business document locked" or "Solve Configuration Issue in ID Mapping for Element Internal ID".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Administrator Work Center.
  2. Click on General Settings.
  3. Open the Web Service Message Monitoring View.
  4. Search for the Service Interface.
  5. You will be able to see the error "Operation not possible; business document locked" or "Solve Configuration Issue in ID Mapping for Element Internal ID".

Cause

The messages will temporarily show this error if there is any interdependence between the objects available in multiple messages. Sometimes, if a user is in the Business Object in Edit mode for long time without doing anything, this error can occur.

Another possibility is that you are sending the same Business Object again in a different payload and the original one was still to be processed.

Resolution

To ensure that such message will not fail but will be automatically reprocessed, the system auto retry mechanism is used to reprocess those messages at least 7 times.
