3098321 - Generic "Search" does not work for material description in the new app "Monitor Material Coverage"

In the old app F2101  (Monitor Material Coverage - Net and Individual Segments), generic search can be used to search for material description.
However, in the new app F2101A(Monitor Material Coverage - Net and Individual Segments ) as of CE2108, the generic search does not work any more for material description.

Go to app F2101A(Monitor Material Coverage - Net and Individual Segments )  to use generic search to search for material description. 

The successor app Monitor Material Coverage - Net Segments instead is based on the SAP Fiori elements framework.
The generic search of the new CDS view based app does not consider the Material Description due to technical restrictions.
At the moment , this is impossible from technical perspective. 

Alternatively, In the new app, Material Description is included within the Material filter what provides additional a selection field.
