3098389 - How to set same scale for In-cell charts in two tables in SAP Analytics Cloud?

Symptom

  • You can observe that in-cell charts are not scaled in the same way although the measure/key figure is selected in chart scaling.
  • In-cell charts setting in two tables not setting to same scale, although the measure object is the same.
  • How to set same scale for In-cell charts in two tables?

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add a crosstab in Story. Set dimension and measure to the crosstab.
  2. Right click on the measure objects in crosstab, Create Top N, then set Top 5 of the measure.
  3. Right click on the measure object name in the crosstab, select In-cell chart.
  4. Copy the crosstab to same page.
  5. Right click on the measure objects in crosstab, Create Top N, then set Bottom 5 of the measure.
  6.  Observe the scale of the measure objects in two tables are not scaled in the same way.

Cause

  • This is a by design behavior.

Resolution

  • Without story chart scaling: Inside one table the in-cell charts are scaled for each account/measure that has the in-cell chart active.
  • Using the story chart scaling: it will scale different accounts/measures to each other inside the table widgets, but it does not scale single account/measure across widgets.
  • It is currently not possible to scale a single account/measure with in-cell charts across widgets.
