3099583 - Following Error Occurs When Replacing a Product in a Sales Order: Changing Product not Permitted; Manual Price Changes Exist

The following error occurs when replacing a product in a Sales Order:

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Sales Orders view.
3. Open Sales Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Sales Order number).
4. Navigate to the Items tab.
5. Select line item XX (XX represents the line item number).
6. The product maintained has the Product ID ABC (ABC represents the product ID).
7. Click on the Replace Product button.
8. Enter Product ID EFG (EFG represents the product ID).
9. Click on Go.
10. Select Product ID EFG in the result list.
11. The following error occurs: Item XX: Changing product not permitted; manual price changes exist

The error occurs because you manually maintained the List Price.

Note that it is only possible to remove a list price for an item if the list price is manually entered.

In this case you need to remove the List Price and then click on the Replace Product button to replace the product.

Attention: It is only possible to remove a list price for an item if list price is manually entered, meaning there is no list price maintained for product in the system.

You can do this as follows:

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Sales Orders view.
3. Open Sales Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Sales Order number).
4. Navigate to the Pricing and Invoicing tab and the Pricing sub tab.
5. Expand Line Item XX.
6. Select the Price Component List Price and click on the Remove button
7. Navigate to the Items tab.
8. Select line item XX (XX represents the line item number).
9. The product maintained has the Product ID ABC (ABC represents the product ID).
10. Click on the Replace Product button.
11. Enter Product ID EFG (EFG represents the product ID).
12. Click on Go.
13. Select Product ID EFG in the result list.
14. The product ABC is replaced by product EFG.
