3100977 - eSignature step for DocuSign giving an error (I9 section 2) - Onboarding

Symptom

  • An error is being received when the Hiring Manager is trying to complete I9 Section 2 for a candidate from the dashboard.
  • Error Message: todo task unavailable for task category: COMPLIANCE_EMPLOYEE_OPEN_ESIGNATURE and BPE process id:complianceProcessId

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the instance
  2. Go to the Onboarding Dashboard
  3. View details for the affected candidates
  4. Click the 'Start' button in the "complete e-signature on compliance forms" task
  5. Error is being received.

Cause

The error message is displayed when signature step is being completed via the Onboarding Dashboard, while remote signature is enabled.

Resolution

WORKAROUND:

  • The Hiring Manager or the responsible user to complete the signature step needs to check their email to complete and sign the forms.

PERMANENT FIX: OBX-19035 Target Fix 2H 2021 (b2111)

  • The fix aims to change the verbiage shows to the users to avoid confusion.
  • Per the above internal ticket, after the fix, the error message will be shown as "Please check your email and add your e-Signature on DocuSign" upon clicking the start button in the "complete e-signature on compliance forms" task.
