3101456 - Fault Manager is not running and heartbeat is stopping automatically - SRS

Symptom

  • Fault Manager heartbeat is shutting down automatically on the ASE hosts which results in Fault Manager startup failure 

  • dev_sybdbfm log shows:

    LogMsg/Text=Heartbeat died after startup.
    LogMsg/Text=LiveDatabaseUpdate failed (sapdbctrl exit code = 1)

    ...
    Error: sapdbctrl: Heartbeat died after startup.
    Error: saphostcontrol: LiveDatabaseUpdate failed (sapdbctrl exit code = 1)
    heartbeat: failure.
  • SAP Host Agent log shows:

    [PID 16999] *** ERROR => Failed to load profile data from file '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/dev_sapstart' [ProfileDataL 143]

    [PID 16999] Loading profile data from profile '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/dev_sybctrl'

    [PID 16999] Analyze profile '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/dev_sybctrl'

    [PID 16999] Invalid instance number
