3101662 - In TM relevant return PO error: MEPO865 "The returns indicator cannnot be set for the purchase order item"

You have the following scenario:

You created already or you create now a TM relevant Purchase Orders (PO). (meaning PO already reached TM system based on customizing Tcode SPRO -> integration with other sap.com components -> Transportation management -> Logistics Integration -> Activate Transfer of Purchasing Documents).

You tick into the PO's existing item or to a new item the "return item" checkbox. By this you get error MEPO865 "The returns indicator cannnot be set for the purchase order item".
