3102544 - Updating Job Application results in an error: "Your Work Has Not Been Saved! Please correct the marked fields below" - Recruiting Management

While trying to save a change within Job Application, system returns an error: "Your Work Has Not Been Saved! Please correct the marked fields below" but there is no required field to be filled.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

1. Open a Requisition and a Candidate Application; 
2. Try to change a field and then click to save; 
3. Receive the error message.

The root cause is that there is a mandatory field that was not filled by the Candidate inside the Application form or Candidate Profile. More often, this required field is coming from a data field in the background element. They appear as read only and the system does not show the read highlight if the field is a read only.

There are three possible ways to resolve the issue:

Resolution 1:

Change the field attribute to be no longer required - find the steps within KBA 2644556 - Changing the Required attribute via Manage Templates Feature - Recruiting Management to do it via Manage Templates Tool or engage your Professional Services Team to do it directly to the XML Template.

Resolution 2: 

Grant the necessary permission - whether for Candidate or Operator - to update this field and save the new values stored. Resolution 3: 

Provide the operator the permission to edit the snapshot so they can supply the required value in the candidate snapshot. See  2081624 - Edit Candidate Profile Snapshot
