3102953 - How to Enable a PSM Field for OData and Transport it to Another System

Symptom

You want to add a Public Solution Model (PSM) field to a view and enable it for OData services. You further want to transport it to another system.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Resolution

The process chain is as follows:

  1. In Adaptation Mode, add PSM field (e.g. CustomerGroupCode which is visible as Customer Group in the UI) to UI (e.g. Sales Quote)
  2. Click on Details and Edit
  3. In OData services tab, add it to the required service and Save
  4. Leave Adaption Mode
  5. Go to Transport Management
  6. Create a Transport Request
  7. Select the Transport Object Type as "Adaptation Changes"
  8. Select the UI Component Details
  9. Add the UI Component which is having the PSM fields added
  10. Once UI Component is selected, Key User fields will be added default
  11. Now click on Actions -> Add Optional Dependencies
  12. Pop-up opens with PSM field available to add it to Transport Request
  13. Select and Add
  14. Add System and Transport the Request to Target System
  15. In Target System, after Release it should be available in OData Metadata
