3103440 - Unable to Save Opportunity When Logged in Arabic Language


You are unable to save an Opportunity when logged on in Arabic language.


SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

Logon in Arabic and:

  1. Go to New Business work center.
  2. Go to Opportunity List view. 
  3. Click in the New button and select Opportunity. 
  4. In the Account section, add the information Name. 
  5. Click in the Save button.

You get the warning messages: 'Save failed' and 'Name is missing'.

Even if you change the Account Name, the warning message is still triggered and you're unable to save it.


This issue occurs because the translation for description of Activity Task and Appointment Activity is not maintained for these activities created by Sales Assistant, during opportunity creation.


You should maintain the translation for description of Activities in the Sales Assistant:

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select your current project. 
  4. Open the Activity list. 
  5. Search for Sales Assistant and open it. 
  6. Click in 'Maintain Activities'. 
  7. Select any activity.
  8. Click in the Translate button. 
  9. Keep the translation for the activities for Arabic (Target Language).
  10. Save it.
