3104294 - Error approving hire "Change index 1 - Unable to Update UserIdINKMS" - SAP Employee Central

Symptom

When trying to add a new employee from onboarding following error appears when trying to approve workflow: 

"Change index 1 - Unable to Update UserIdINKMS"

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Suite integration
  • Onboarding

Cause

Pre-day 1 is enabled, however admin is changing the candidate name during manage pending hires step which consequently system cannot find the pre-day 1 profile and when you try to finish the process person 1 will be duplicated.

Resolution

In case is needed to change candidate first and last name, please do it before or after pending hires action, otherwise will not be able to match existing profile for the candidate.
