Symptom
The forms are taking a few hours to show up in the new manager's inbox after a manager transfer.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Change the employee's manager
- The new manager is already updated in Employee Profile
- Go to new manager's inbox
- The forms are not there yet
- After a few hours, the forms appear in the new manager's inbox
Cause
The "Refresh RBP Rules" job is scheduled in Provisioning.
Resolution
The document transfers occur after the "Trigger Document Transfer and Change Engine" job runs in Provisioning, which is dependent and runs after the Refresh job.
Normally the "Realtime Refresh DG Membership" runs automatically after whenever there is an update to the user data in the system, but when there is a schedule for "Refresh RBP Rules", the system will follow the schedule.
The "Refresh RBP Rules" is used to replace the "Realtime Refresh DG Membership" job normally in case that the update frequency is too high which cause the job system of the data center to be unstable. It is a timely job, unless it is scheduled in Provisioning it will not start to run.
As explained in KB Article 2544719, this job should not be schedule to run in a high frequency. The recommendation is no more than once every 3 hours.
Therefore, it is an expected behavior the document transfers will occur only after the "Refresh RBP Rules" runs. Depending on the time the change is made, the delay is longer or shorter according to how much time is left until the next refresh.
