3105826 - Troubleshooting Common Issues with Events in Context-Driven Services

Symptom

Every time a consumer interacts with a storefront, CDS Foundation gathers information that is reflected in various parts of the system. This happens in the form of Events that are sent from SAP Commerce Cloud to CDS and is made possible via the profileservices and profiletagaddon extensions in SAP Commerce Cloud and the Profile Tag configuration in CDS.

SAP Commerce Cloud may send an event to CDS when a customer adds an item to cart, visits a product page, places an order and many other scenarios. What may happen in some circumstances is that an action taken in SAP Commerce Cloud is not reflected in CDS, indicating that there was likely a problem in sending the event.

For example: 3059891 - OrderCreated Event Not Sent to CDS

Each event may fail to be sent for various reasons. This article aims to offer a high level troubleshooting guide that should apply to all events in general. If all options are exhausted and there is a need to create a support ticket, please provide the details of your findings (e.g. steps taken, screenshots of configurations, etc.) as per the guide.
