3106016 - Finite scheduling is not taken into consideration by MRP

Symptom

Finite scheduling is not taken into consideration when MRP creates planned orders.
I.e. the scheduling of generated planned orders might be overlap.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Cause

When MRP was executed with lead time scheduling, capacity requirements are created. However, the MRP is designed on infinite capacity model, which means that MRP ignores any capacity load when executed. Therefore, it is correct that the MRP still creates orders for a overloaded work center. This is the standard system behavior.

Resolution

Finite scheduling needs to be done during production order phase.
