Symptom
In August 2021 a new feature was introduced: When you change the password of a business user, a system-generated e-mail is sent out to the registered e-mail address of the user, notifying the user about the change.
You want to opt out of this feature, but don't know how.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customers
Resolution
- This feature is not only a product security standard, but also a legal requirement (e.g. BSI Bundesagentur für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik, i.e. German federal agency for IT security).
- By default, this feature is enabled. There is no option to opt out of this feature. In order to provide an option to opt out of this feature, customers may raise this as a requirement in influence forum and we might take up it up as a backlog according to the priority. In this case, to turn off this feature would be the customer’s responsibility.
- If a customer would be able to turn off this feature, there could be legal implications. In case an employee denies having looked at certain data or having changed data, this could cause noticeable trouble.
