Symptom
You are migrating Open items payables and receive the below error message:
Account determination missing for item type Migration Clearing Account for Payables
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Select the Implementation Projects view.
- Select your implementation project and click Open Activity List.
- Select Integrate and Extend tab.
- Search for Migration of Accounting Transaction Data activity and click on Migrate accounting transaction data using the migration tool.
- Select the migration unit and select Execute Migration.
- Simulate the migration, then you get the error message:
Account determination missing for item type Migration Clearing Account for Payables
Cause
There was no account determination maintained for Migration Clearing Account for Payables in the Business Configuration.
When you migrate Open items Payable, the amounts are posted on the payables of the corresponding sub ledgers and the opening balances is posted to an offsetting account as The total amount of open items payable must be equal to their balance in the general ledger account.
Resolution
You need to maintain the account determiantion for the Migration Clearing Account for Payables in the below steps:
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Go to the Implementation Projects view.
- Select the project and open activity list.
- Open activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
- Select Data Migration under Account Determination section.
- Select your Account Determination Profile.
- Go to the Data Migration tab.
- Click on Add Row button.
- Maintain the G/L account for Migration Clearing Account for Payables.
- Click on Save and Close.
