3106983 - SM59 TCP/IP destination fails at one or more cluster nodes after a failover has occurred

Symptom

SAP is running on a high availability (cluster) environment.

There are ABAP instances running on the cluster nodes too.

After a failover occurs, SM59 destinations of type TCP/IP (e.g., for "registered server programs") start failing at one or both instances that are running on the cluster nodes.

Another possible symptom is to observe the following entries in the work processes' trace files (dev_w*):

(...)
M *** ERROR => ThCPICArgs: NiAddrToHost failed [thxxcpic.c 7393]
(...)

A RFC 1869 CONVID 23195471
A * CMRC=0 DATA=0 STATUS=0 SAPRC=0 ThCPICArgs Illegal CONVID
(...)
A *** ERROR => RFC Error RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c : 1873
CPIC-CALL: 'ThCPICArgs'
Illegal CONVID
