When trying to make a correction to a position via 'manage positions' the system generates an application error.

Position Management

1. Navigate to Manage Position
2. Search for the affected position
3. Make correction>Any data change
4. Save the record
5. Application error is received

•  The user trying to make the data change on the position object does not have permissions to edit the incumbents job information
•  The position to job info sync is triggered from the 'Manage Positions' UI - Therefore if the logged in user does not have edit permissions to the incumbents job information they will not be able to make the change and the error will generate - See KBA under section UI Changes: 2529515 - Position To Job Information Sync Troubleshooting Guide (PositionToJobInfoSyncRuleCheck) - EC

Workaround:

• Make the change to the position object via 'Manage Data' instead as this does not trigger the sync - See 

Otherwise you must make sure to grant edit permissions to the job information portlet data so this transaction can process through Manage Positions
