3107825 - What Happens with Restore Point after Tenant Refresh

Symptom

You want to create a restore point and you are planning to do tenant refresh with copy of production in the test tenant.

You are not sure if the tenant refresh is going to erase the restore point.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Resolution

  • If you request a restore point before the refresh, restore point will not be valid after tenant refresh.
  • If you request a restore point after the refresh, there will be no issues.

However, after a refresh the test tenant (and also restore point) contains the data of production. A restore point is a snapshot of your system’s data at a specific point in time. As by default, restore points have a retention period of 14 days. But a tenant refresh will erase the restore point data.
