3108760 - eDocument Saudi Arabia Troubleshooting Guide


The companies are generally obliged to transmit data via electronic transmission as defined by the tax authority. As per regulation published on 4th December 2020, e-invoicing will be implemented in two phases:

  • Phase One, known as the Generation phase and enforceable as of December 4, 2021. As part of phase one, SAP provides an automated solution to generate and store xml in the format defined by the tax authority.
  • Phase Two, known as the Integration phase and enforceable starting from January 1, 2023

This SAP Note aims to clarify questions about the Document Compliance Saudi Arabia solution (eDocument). This documentation will be updated with the main SAP Notes, future changes, questions and issues regarding the Saudi Arabia's electronic invoice functionality. It is strongly recommended to review the content of the overview SAP Notes 3095262 (eDocument Saudi Arabia eInvoice) and 2134248 (eDocument Framework Overview), and also the SAP Note 2530509 (eDocument Framework Troubleshooting Guide), as the Framework part is a prerequisite for eDocument Saudi Arabia.
