3109953 - Table variable may cause signal 11 in open_range during procedure recompilation - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE reports an "infected with signal 11" error in the module open_range() with a stack trace:

    Current process (0x1c500e3) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)                                        
    Address 0x0x0000000001cbaf30 (open_range+0x1680), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x0x00002abc88358fc0)

  • The stack trace contains the following functions:

    open_range 
    open_one_side
    s_preprocess

  • The process was recompiling a statement which had a table variable, e.g. insert into @table_variable (......) values(.....)
