Symptom

  • When running a command including 'external file' clause, message 11283 is returned:

    Msg 11283, Level 16, State 3:
    Server 'ASE16', Line 1:
    External file access is not enabled or not licensed.

  • In a Solution Manager system, syslogs entries (SM21) show

    Database error 11283 at EXE
    [ASE Error SQL11283] External file access is not enabled or not licensed.
