3112097 - BW prompt default values are overwritten in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

There is a data mismatch between BW Query and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

You would like to have dimension members to be defaulted (e.g. current year and month) for the prompt, however the defaulted prompt values are overwritten with the last saved values in Story and/or bookmark level.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 1.0.

BW Live Connection.

Reproducing the Issue

You are creating a new Story based on live BW connection and the BEx query has defaulted prompt values.

Cause

This is how a product is intended to work.

It is the default behavior of SAP Analytics Cloud to save the variable values, which were entered in the prompt, with the story. When later coming back to the same story, those values will be loaded and used.

Resolution

The default values from the query are then ignored. An exception to this are "Exit" variables.
