Symptom
An additional approver has permission for a status from the Application Pipeline, but still can't see the fields from Candidate's application:
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a Requisition as an Approver (role [U]), where you were a part of the approval workflow;
- See that even though the Status is visible, Application's content and fields can't be seen.
Cause
The cause behind this is due to the role of [U], which is designed once the User was added "manually" as a Modifier/Approver of that Requisition approval process (for further details, review KBA 2706455 - Adding extra Approver / Reviewer in Job Requisition with a button - Recruiting Management).
Once a User is assigned to this role, the Application permissions can't be granted, since the [U] Operator is not a valid one to be defined within Application Template permissions; it is important to emphasize that this Approver added doesn't have the same permissions as [V] role, it doesn't inherit any Recruiting approver permissions.
Now, if the User can see the status, is because it is granted the permission within "Edit Applicant Status" for the respective status, as follows the next example:
The "Visible To" allows the User to view the status "Interview" only, for example:
Resolution
This is expected behavior since the [U] role won't have the permissions granted, it is not considered an Operator of the Requisition. If the User was granted as [U], it was defined in the Route Map as well; it can't be changed.
Another alternative would be to design a standard Operator Role for the User or to use Recruiting Groups to include the Approver, avoiding using the "Add Modifier" option. To see more about the topic, check the KBAs:
