3114128 - Time of document/posting date differs from the time of the creation date

Symptom

The creation of a Purchase Order followed by the generation of a Goods Movement (MIGO) resulted in a discrepancy between the document/posting date and the creation date.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Purchase Order
  2. Generate a Goods Movement
  3. Check the posting date of the document and the creation date

Resolution

This is a standard system behavior.

  1. The document/posting date is based on the local time zone (e.g German time zone GMT+2)
  2. The creation date is based on the system sever time zone, in your system which is set as UTC. Therefore, the creation date is recorded UTC date.

-> The purpose of these kind of different document dates is considering the international Bilanz Legal requirement so that a international company with different daughter company located different countries can publish its Bilanz data with identical time zone, resp.: their Server Time Zone.
