3114195 - Operation Not Possible; Inventory Item Blocked by Another User

Error "Operation not possible; Inventory item blocked by another user XXX" occurs while performing post goods issue.

You find that another user is releasing a different Post Good Issue(PGI) document while you are releasing one.

It is important to note that some of the same material exist in both documents.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Outbound Logistics Work Center.
2. Navigate to Delivery Proposals View.
3. Search and Select the proposal.
4. Choose Post Goods Issue Button. 
5. Fulfill the fields.
6. Choose Release Button, then the errors occurs.

The inventory will be locked for obvious reasons when the PGI is released. It creates confirmation documents which cannot be processed inconsistently if the lock is not imposed.

Therefore, we lock it and the error message occurs as expected to maintain consistent behavior and accurate allocation of inventory to requesting processes synchronously.

Nothing can be done here to change it since it's a standard behavior.
