Symptom

This article provides guidance on how to configure translations for Rating Type values that display in Employee Profile Ad-Hoc Reports.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to "Reporting";
  2. Create a new EP Domain report or edit an existing one;
  3. Go to "Columns";
  4. Click to select the columns;
  5. Select "All Ratings";
  6. Add the "Rating Type" field as well as all required fields to the "Selected Columns";
  7. Do all other required configuration in case you are creating a brand new report and hit the "Preview" button;
  8. See the "Rating Type" values display in English;
  9. Now switch system's language to another language and see that one or more values do not have a translation and therefore are displaying in English.

Cause

One or more translations have not been defined in Manage Languages - Provisioning

Resolution

Please note that in order to perform the following steps, access to the back-end is required. As customers do not have access to Provisioning, kindly engage your Implementation Partner for assistance on that.

  1. Log in to Provisioning;
  2. Go to "Manage Languages";
  3. Find the concerning language and select to "Download default labels";
  4. Open the extracted file in a text editor such as NotePad++;
  5. Search for the "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_" tag (Please note it can be: "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_COMPETENCY", "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_POTENTIAL", "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_PERFORMANCE", "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_OBJECTIVE",  "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_CUSTOM1" and "EMPFILE_RATING_FB_TYPE_CUSTOM2");
  6. Add the translation to it;


  7. Save the file;
  8. Go back to Provisioning;
  9. Click to "Add custom locale";
  10. Add a Custom Language Name;
  11. Hit "OK";
  12. Expand the selected language;


  13. Click to "Upload custom labels";
  14. Select the updated .csv file;
  15. Hit "Save";
  16. Log in to the UI;
  17. Open the concerning report in the desired language and see that the added translation has been successfully applied.
