3116231 - Birthday and Work Anniversary Cards on the Latest Home Page - 2H 2021

Symptom

The Birthday and Work Anniversary cards remind you when a team member has an upcoming milestone. This KBA provides steps how to setup the Birthday and Work Anniversary Cards on the Latest Home Page.

Resolution

When a Manager accesses the Latest Homepage and one or more of his/her direct reports have a birthday or service anniversary then the card will show a list of all direct reports that have a milestone in the month on the For You Today section of the Latest Home Page as shown on screenshot below:

 A first reminder appears on the first day of the month will appear as shown above, for all birthdays and work anniversaries on your team in the coming month. A second reminder appears on the day of the milestone as shown on screenshot below:

How to enable Birthday and Work Anniversary Reminders on the Latest Home Page

Please Note the below Upgrade is only available once the Upgrade to the Latest Home Page has been completed. 

This upgrade enables Birthday and Work Anniversary cards on latest home page. To do that, it sets up 2 scheduled jobs (1 monthly and 1 daily) to check for upcoming milestones, to enable follow steps below :

  1. Go to Admin Center > Upgrade Center >Optional Upgrade
  2.  Find the Push Birthday and Anniversary Cards on the Latest Home Page upgrade.
  3. Then follow on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.

Job Details: 

  • Two jobs will be triggered scheduled by the upgrade: 
    • Push Date of Birth and Anniversary Data for Cards on Latest Home Page (Monthly)  - This job will be scheduled to run on the first day of each month
    • Push Date of Birth and Anniversary Data for Cards on Latest Home Page (Daily) - This job will be scheduled to run daily
  • Both jobs will be scheduled UTC 00:00. The admin who triggers the upgrade will be used as the Job owner for both jobs. If this user becomes inactive at any point the jobs will need to be updated to an active user. 

Notes:

  • This notification for birthdays will last 24 hours. 
  • When there are no birthdays/anniversaries in a month, no card will be generated.
  • Monthly push job to the card is scheduled to run on the first day of the month by default, so any new changes (new hire, manager change, termination) after that won't be reflected into the card data. However, when you click to open the card, it will return the real time data. For example Work Anniversary card will not show a new employee that was hired on the 8th of this month on the home page, but opening the Work Anniversary card it will fetch real data and list that new hire also.
  • To disable the card services, the below two jobs that are used in the Upgrade process can be canceled:
    • Push Date of Birth and Anniversary Data for Cards on Latest Home Page (Monthly)
    • Push Date of Birth and Anniversary Data for Cards on Latest Home Page (Daily)
