3117433 - MAIN_POSTPROC/RUNASYN_RSTRCONUPD: Timeout while opening an RFC connection

Symptom

Software Update Manager(SUM) is stuck in the phase MAIN_POSTPROC/RUNASYN_RSTRCONUPD due to an error similar to the below example:

RFC login to system <SID> ashost <hostname> nr <instance number> gwhost <hostname> gwservice
sapgw00 failed with code 1 key RFC_COMMUNICATION_FAILURE: Timeout while opening an RFC connection.

During phase PREP_PREPROC/ASCS_ASK, ASCS Instance Split option was selected, similar to the below:

01)  *  Yes, perform ASCS Instance Split during execution
02)  -  No, keep Single Instance Setup
: Yes, perform ASCS Instance Split during execution
