Please Note:

Internal Hires with New Employment Using Manage Pending Hires Enhancement has been Re-enabled in all 2H 2021 Production Environments as of February 22nd after being Temporarily Disabled post Release.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Cause

  •  You can now use the Manage Pending Hires tool to hire internal employees with new employment when the pending hires are from Recruiting and Onboarding 1.0.
  • If you select a pending internal hire who is inactive, or has a termination record in the future, you see a new pop-up message with the choice to hire either as an Internal Hire or hire as a Rehire.

Please note the Title in the UI as can been seen in the above screenshot, is being improved to replace the Title by the radio button from "Rehire" to "Rehire with New Employment". This KBA will be updated once this is completed.

Resolution

FAQ:

Q: When I select an Internal Hire Candidate I do not see the above pop UI. Why is this?
A: This feature selection is only available for users who have "

Q: When I select "Rehire with New Employment" only Hire Event Reasons are displayed. I am unable to select Rehire Event Reasons?
A: This feature is for Rehire with New Employment. When selecting "Rehire with New Employment" you are rehiring the user with a new employment. As per system logic a Rehire with New Employment must have a Hire Event Reason.
Some customers choose to create a specific Hire Event Reason for use with Rehire with New Employment so it is easy to determine if a New Employment was created via Rehire with New Employment.

Q: When selecting "Rehire with New Employment" I receive an error "The Employee X cannot be rehired since the status is Active" even when the user has a future dated Termination.
A:The Hire date that is being mapped for this user must be after their Termination Date. If the Hire date is before the users Termination Date, this error will be displayed. To resolve the issue, you must change the user Hire Date that is being mapped to a date after the users Termination Date in either Onboarding 1.0 or Recruiting.

Q: When I select "Rehire with New Employment" the users data from their pervious employment is not pre-populated.
A: As this is a Rehire with New Employment the users pervious employment data is not pre-populated. The users data that is being mapped from Onboarding 1.0 or Recruiting will be mapped for the user.

Q: When I select "Rehire with New Employment" the user is getting a new User ID?
A: This is expected behavior as the "Rehire with New Employment" option is a Rehire with New Employment. A New UserId and UserName is required for the New Employment.
More information on where UserID and UserName will be generated from can be found in the following link:
Implementing and Managing the Employment Lifecycle (from Hiring to Termination) in Employee Central: Possible ID Outputs for Rehire with New Employment

Q: When I select "Rehire with New Employment" the "Accept Match" pop-up is not displayed, why is this?
A: The "Rehire with New Employment" option here is a Rehire with New Employment. This does not include Rehire via Accept Match, as a rehire via Accept Match is a rehire to an existing employment.

Q: When I select an employee who is still Active, why do I see this pop-up?
A: When you select a pending internal hire who is inactive, or has a termination record in the future, you see a new pop-up message with the choice to hire either as an Internal Hire or hire as a Rehire with New Employment.
