3118220 - Error "Activation of XOPVW is not allowed in account group *" occurs when activating open item management

Error "Activation of XOPVW is not allowed in account group" occurs  when trying to activate open item manage for account.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Activate open item manage by scheduling job template 'Activate Open Item Management for G/L Accounts'.

The error is issued because open item management is only useful and possible for balance sheet accounts that are not reconciliation accounts. Therefore, the display of the corresponding parameter is suppressed for all account groups that are not intended for this type of G/L account. A conversion using the relevant job template is also not possible.

Activate open item management only for G/L accounts for which this makes sense.

Please note:

Of the account groups delivered in best practice, only

• FIN.              Liquid funds accounts
• MAT.             Materials management accounts
• SAKO            G/L accounts (general)

allow open item management.
