Symptom
- Roll-up is showing the sum rather than the average value when using restricted dimension instead of filter.
- The only difference is that, in the first case, the Time dimension is filtered directly using table widget filters, while in the second case its selection is performed within the restricted measure definition itself.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud 2021.14.20
Reproducing the Issue
Two different tables have been implemented:
- The first table has Time dimension in the columns and widget filters where SignedData is the measure (existing in the model) for which data has been loaded. Based on the exception aggregation setting, the roll-up across multiple time periods is calculated as an average of the underlying periods as expected.
- In the second table, a story-calculated measure is used in the columns, aimed at restricting the original measure SignedData to the same time frame. However, although the filters applied to the two tables are essentially the same, the roll-up is showing the sum rather than the average value in this case.
