What's New Viewer: ECT-175639 - Deprecation of Job Information Data Model Fields
Our Engineering Product Manager has created the following Customer Community Blog Post on this Topic: Deprecation of Job Information Data Model Fields
This KBA is aimed to provide links to the relevant information for this enhancement along with some additional context.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Cause
Just as we add new fields for new features when required, we also ensure that we remove fields that no longer serve their purpose well enough, for example, if a feature is deprecated or replaced. By removing fields and the associated code when they are no longer used and supported, we ensure that the application remains stable and maintainable. For the Job Information entity, we plan to delete several fields that have been deprecated for a while and accordingly communicated in our guides.
NOTE: Since we have heard major concerns about the deletion of the field PAY GROUP in Job Information, we decided not to delete this field. If you use Employee Central Compensation, we continue to strongly recommend using the pay group field in the Compensation Information entity. If you do not use Employee Central Compensation Information, you can continue to use the pay group field in Job Information – however you cannot expect any field -specific logic, validations, or any kind of maintenance (bug fixes or patches). Please also do not expect any enhancements here. Note that this field has been marked as not to be used since Q1/2017.
The What's New Viewer is in the process of being updated to not the Pay Group will no longer be included.
