Symptom
Posting date is not getting recalculated during accrual recalculation which is processed as part of Accrual Calendar Run with recalculation enabled.
Environment
Successfactors - Employee Central Time Off
Reproducing the Issue
- Make a change in the existing accrual rule condition for the posting date.
- Run the Accrual Calendar with recalculation enabled.
- Check the accrual posting in the Time Account
- Posting date remains as same as before
- But in Time Account Process simulator with recalculation posting date reflects the new date change
Cause
Accrual Recalculation Posting Method is set as "Classic" in Time Account Type
- Accrual Recalculation Posting Method "Classic" only considers quantity changes (Amount Posted).
- "No Recalculation Postings" will consider both posting date change along with quantity changes (Amount Posted)
Resolution
We recommend using "No Recalculation Postings" as the Accrual Recalculation Posting Method in the Time Account Type due to following advantages over Classic:
- If the accrual date changed during recalculation then that date change is considered as well. Classic only considers quantity changes
- Less data volume, especially for daily accruals.
- If there are duplicate accruals, you don't run into an error but calendars with recalculation can clean up that data.
