3119941 - Changes of Address format determination for China, Japan and Korea

The address format determination for the countries China, Japan and Korea is changed by the Cloud 2111 upgrade.

• Before Cloud 2111 Upgrade, the determination for whether the address format should be Domestic or International format are dependent on parameters like sender and receiver countries in respective methods for China, Japan and Korea.
• This approach creates problems if the address data (in particular space version/default version itself) is maintained in combination of Chinese/Japanese/Korean scripts along with Latin characters.

With 2111, this dependency on external parameters has been removed and the determination of the address format is done based the script the address is maintained in.
 

• For example, if most of the characters are in Chinese script and the Country maintained is China, then the address formatting will carry out as domestic layout.

• Similarly, for China, if the address is maintained in Latin characters then the address formatting will carry out as International layout,

This feature of address format determination is done based on the percentage of characters maintained in that script:

The address is considered CJK (domestic format for China, Japan and Korea) if at least 20% of the characters are from the corresponding script block.

The percentage is so low because a CJK character usually carries more information that a Latin one.

Currently it is applied to only Japan and Korea address Layouts. With 2202 upgrade, the same will also be available for China.
