3121039 - Admin Alert Tile Displaying Alert for "Invalid Legal Entity"

The Admin Alert tile will display an alert for "Invalid Legal Entity" (please note that the below "Invalid Legal Entity" warning in Admin Alerts does not directly indicate that this issue is caused by associations. This can also indicate genuine data inconsistencies):

When viewing the impacted record via the Admin Center tool, "Employees Associated With Invalid HR Data", the system will display the following message:

The selected record has the following invalid values.

Company: ACE USA(ACE_USA)(01/01/1980-12/31/9999) has invalid association with LegalEntity.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Job Information

1. Navigate to Admin Alerts
2. Click on the "Invalid Legal Entity" text, the system will take you to the "Employees Associated With Invalid HR Data" page
3. When selecting one of the records, you will be sent to the Job Information record of the employee, where there will be text showing:

“The selected record has the following invalid values.

Company: ACE USA(ACE_USA)(01/01/1980-12/31/9999) has invalid association with LegalEntity.”

While the handbook page regarding Using Associations to Structure Your Business - SAP Help Portal allows the self-association of objects, this does not apply to the Legal Entity. This needs to remain at the top of the hierarchy and, as a result, cannot be self-associated as it can cause this issue.

Lower hierarchy objects such as Department can be self-associated as per the handbook, but not the Legal Entity. As such, we would request that customers review their configuration with a Partner or Professional Services, as this is confirmed to not be supported and would need to be adjusted within their environments.

This self-association of Legal Entity is not currently supported and so should not be used in customer environments. Self-association of lower-level hierarchy objects is allowed.
