3121142 - System Dumps when Posting Goods Receipt

System keeps loading the Goods Receipt for long time when you are trying to post it, resulting in a dump error.

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to Inbound Logistics workcenter.
2. Then select the Purchase Orders view.
3. Select the desired Purchase Order.
4. Click Post Goods Receipt.

After several minutes, a time-out dump appears.

The destination strategy maintained at the Logistics Site is Material Driven. In the Material Driven strategy, the last used Logistics Area is picked up when stock separators are present. In case no stock separators are there, the system proposes a Logistics Area randomly. This is the normal system behavior.

If there are not further rules maintained in the storage location and the Material Driven strategy is used for all the stock separators combination, it causes the time consuming process, leading to the dump.

Setting the material flow rule accordingly to your business needs, avoiding to use the Material Driven strategy for all the stock separators combination.
