3121243 - How to test autoscaling in an endpoint in SAP Commerce in the Public Cloud

Your endpoint has autoscaling enabled and you want to test it, maybe to fine-tune the values used by this feature.

This KBA indicates the steps to a graph that can be used to verify the usage of the endpoint.

The metric to increase and decrease the number of replicas is the CPU usage.

By default, the system checks:

  • every 1 minute if the average CPU usage is above the threshold
  • every 30 minutes if the average CPU usage is below the threshold

By default, the min and max thresholds are 30% and 60% CPU usage.

All of these 4 values are fully customizable via an SAP Product Support request ticket to CEC-HCS-CCAZ-SCALE component.

To test the autoscaling feature, you can use a CPU usage graph available in Dynatrace.
Follow the steps described in the Resolution section of this KBA to access the graph.
