3121451 - Data Upload in Sales Target Plan Not Possible

You have opened a sales target plan in Excel, and you maintain a few new values, for example for the Target key figure. When you click Upload Data and then Refresh, the new data disappears and the old values are shown.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to the work center Sales and the view Sales Target Planning.
2. Open your plan in Excel.
3. Make the required selections. For example, filter on a product.
4. Enter a new value for the key figures Target and Quantity.
5. Now mark the 2 cells and drag them down, over all the entries. The new values are pasted to all cells.
6. Now remove the filter and see all products. You will notice the result line is marked yellow although it was not changed manually.
7. Click Upload Data, then Refresh.

The new values change back to the old ones.

The issue is happening as the dragging feature of MS Excel makes the SAP Excel Add-In perceive that the value in the result row got changed as well. Since the change in the result row value always takes precedence over individual cell change, uploading the input upload changes the individual values back.

We are currently checking if this behavior can be enhanced in a future release.

In the meantime, you can make use of the following workarounds:

1. Either use the copy & paste function in Excel (via Ctrl+C and Ctrl+P) instead of dragging.

2. Or you could also remove the result row from the Excel report. Note that this will need to be done for all characteristics, so that no result row is seen at all. Then the drag & drop feature in Excel can be used and the values should stay in place.
