Symptom
You locked an administrator business user and need to request SAP for that user to be unlocked and/or for the password to be reset.
Environment
- SAP Business ByDesign
- SAP Cloud for Customer
Resolution
SAP has a very strict data protection and security policy to protect Customer data and System access. Please ensure that there is an Administrator or key user available at all times with access to the Business Users view to unlock users and set temporary passwords. SAP suggests to avoid having only a single administrator user to prevent such situations.
There might be a scenario where all users get locked by accident. In such a case, you can provide SAP support with that admin/key user's user ID and request for SAP to unlock and also reset that user's password.
Important Info: SAP will only send the password to the e-mail maintained for this particular user. SAP will never share a business user's password on the phone (unless the identity of the caller being the same as the business user owner is confirmed and clear). SAP will never send a temporary password to an e-mail address that is not already maintained in connection to that same user in the system.
In case the above scenario is not correctly configured, your SAP CSP (Customer Success Partner) or SAP Representative needs to be contacted to confirm the user identity in the company, so SAP support can process the request in an exceptional basis.
These strict rules are in the interest of data protection and Application-User Security.
