3122657 - Error "Unable to authenticate. Please ensure your credentials are valid" after upgrading to LDC 3.3 in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

After upgrading to the Live Universe Connector 3.3, you get the error "Unable to authenticate. Please ensure your credentials are valid." when trying to connect to a universe using SAML authentication.

Full Error Message:

SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with trusted user and key info has failed (LogonTrustedPrincipal) (Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is correct (FWB 00008)(hr=#0x80042900)", "MessageClass":"","StackTrace":======== Exception Info\n Message :\n [repo_proxy 13] SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with trusted user and key info has failed (LogonTrustedPrincipal)(Enterprise authentication could not log you on. Please make sure your logon information is correct. (FWB 00008)(hr=#0x80042900)

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.20.10

1. Set up the LDC connection with SAML using a version prior to 3.3
2. Upgrade to LDC 3.3
3. Get the Unable to Authenticate error.

In LDC version 3.3 a number of properties used in the ldc.properties file have been deprecated.  If you are still using them in your ldc.properties file then you will get the authentication error.

Check the ldc.properties file, if you are still using any of these properties:

• saml.boe.sharedsecret
• connector.https.keystore.password
• connector.https.key.password
• connector.https.truststore.password
• saml.keystore.password
• boe.restsdkurl

Then they need to be removed and updated with the new properties used in LDC 3.3.
