3123207 - Depreciation Percentage Field not editable for Customized Depreciation Method

You create a depreciation method based on the depreciation method template containing the description  'Declining balance based on NBV and planned useful life...'

When editing the Depreciation Parameters of the new depreciation method you notice that the Depreciation Percentage field is grayed out and not editable.

You created depreciation method ZXXX based on template GCTDBNLE - Declining balance based on NBV and planned useful life; depreciation ends at end of planned useful life, NBV remains for example (ZXXX represents the new depreciation method's ID). 

1. In the Business Configuration work center access the fine tune task Depreciation Methods. 
2. Press Edit Depreciation Method.
3. In the new screen, find method ZXXX and select it.
4. Navigate to the Depreciation Parameters tab. 
5. The Depreciation Percentage field is grayed out. 

Depreciation methods based on templates containing the description 'Declining balance based on NBV and planned useful life..' are based on the straight line method and the remaining net book value in a fiscal year of the fixed asset's life time.

Example:

A fixed asset is to be depreciated within 8 years then the value is depreciated at 12,5 % per annum (100%÷ 8 = 12.5%).

It is not intended to manipulate the depreciation percentage for depreciation methods based on such templates.

If you need to define a depreciation percentage create a depreciation method based on a template containing the description 'Declining balance based on NBV and a defined percentage;..'

For these depreciation methods the Depreciation Percentage field is editable.
