3123361 - Exported Excel files from C4C always defaulting with R1C1 reference

Symptom

  • When exporting from C4C, the format exported R1C1 referencing style.
  • Users expect the referencing style to be as A1.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into the system with a a user that has enough rights
  2. Go to Sales work center
  3. Go to the Leads view
  4. Refine Leads by "Converted"
  5. Click the cogwheel icon on the top right corner
  6. Select export to excel
  7. The workbook opens
  8. Enable editing if necessary
  9. The top left cell indicates the reference style R1C1

Resolution

  • This is a Microsoft limitation and cannot be changed from SAP side.
  • Reference style has to be converted manually.
    1. Click the File tab to access Backstage view.
    2. Click Options.
    3. The Excel Options dialog box will appear. Click Formulas on the left side of the dialog box.
    4. Uncheck the box next to R1C1 reference style, then click OK. Excel will now use the A1 reference style.
  • Some users may try to use Macros to open any excel and default to A1 referencing.
