Symptom
- Error: 'The database connector: ‘crdb_oracle.dll’ could not be loaded.'
- Unable to refresh reports connecting to Oracle in Crystal Reports, on some computer.
- When refreshing a report based on Oracle in Crystal Reports, it fails with the error:
"Failed to load database information.
Details: The database connector: ‘crdb_oracle.dll’ could not be loaded.
The correct version of the database client for this database might not be installed."

Reproducing the Issue
- In Crystal Reports, open a report connecting to an Oracle database.
- Refresh the report.
- It fails with the error: 'The database connector: ‘crdb_oracle.dll’ could not be loaded...'
Cause
- This error occurs because the Oracle Client is not installed on the local computer where Crystal Reports is installed.
Resolution
- Install and configure the Oracle Client on the local computer where Crystal Reports is installed:
- For Crystal Reports 2013, 2016:
- Install and configure the 32bit version of the Oracle Client.
- For Crystal Reports 2020:
- Install and configure the 64bit version of the Oracle Client.
