Symptom

Custom Field is not added / included in the CDS View I_MaterialDocumentItem

Environment

  •  SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1.  From the app Custom Fields & Logic.
  2.  Create a new entry for your field for the Business Context 'MATERIALDOCUMENTITEM'.
  3.  Checking the 'Custom CDS views' app the custom field is not included in the CDS View I_MaterialDocumentItem.

Resolution

Custom fields for business context MATERIALDOCUMENTITEM are automatically included in the predefined standard CDS views:

A_EXCISETAXMATLDOCITEM
C_MATLDOCFORPRINTGOODSMVT
F_MMIM_FINDMATDOC
F_MMIM_MATDOC_ITEM
NSDM_E_MSEG

The custom field is not added / included in the CDS View i_materialdocumentitem

The CDS View I_MaterialDocumentItem_2 is Released for use in building a query but not to add a custom field too.
